Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to the Journal of Literature Education and Cultural Studies (JOLECS) undergoes a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and academic contribution of the published articles. Both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.

After the initial editorial screening, manuscripts that comply with the journal's aims, scope, and submission guidelines are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's subject area. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, significance, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, clarity of presentation, ethical standards, and relevance to the journal.

Reviewers are normally given 2–4 weeks to complete their evaluation. Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final editorial decision. If the recommendations differ substantially, the editor may assign an additional reviewer before making a final decision.

The average review process takes approximately 4–12 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the quality of revisions submitted by the authors.

The official language of the journal is English.

Review Outcomes

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, one of the following editorial decisions will be made:

  1. Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication without any further revisions.
  2. Minor Revision: The manuscript is accepted subject to minor revisions. Authors are requested to address the reviewers' comments before the manuscript proceeds to publication.
  3. Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions before it can be reconsidered for publication. The revised manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation.
  4. Resubmit for Review: The manuscript requires extensive improvements and should be resubmitted as a new version. The revised submission will undergo another round of peer review.
  5. Reject: The manuscript is rejected because it does not meet the scientific quality, originality, ethical standards, or scope of the journal. Rejected manuscripts cannot be reconsidered unless submitted as a substantially new manuscript.

All correspondence regarding submitted manuscripts should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Literature Education and Cultural Studies (JOLECS).

The corresponding author will receive all editorial communications and is responsible for informing co-authors regarding the manuscript status. After acceptance, additional correspondence may occur during the copyediting, proofreading, and production stages before publication.
