Plagiarism Policy
Sustainable Finance & Development (SFD) applies a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity.
Definition
Plagiarism is the use of another person's ideas, words, data, figures, or other intellectual property without proper acknowledgment and presenting them as one's own original work.
Policy
All manuscripts submitted to SUFID must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal. Any material reproduced from other sources must be properly cited and referenced. Direct quotations must be clearly indicated using quotation marks or appropriate formatting and accompanied by complete citations.
All submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin before entering the peer-review process.
Similarity Index
SUFID uses Turnitin to evaluate the similarity index. The Editorial Board assesses each similarity report and determines whether any overlap constitutes plagiarism.
The following editorial actions apply:

Similarity Index above 40%: The manuscript will be rejected due to excessive similarity, poor citation practices, or inadequate paraphrasing. Resubmission of the same manuscript is not accepted.

Similarity Index between 15% and 40%: The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision. Authors must improve citations, rewrite overlapping text through proper paraphrasing, and resubmit the revised manuscript.

Similarity Index of 15% or below: The manuscript may proceed to the editorial and peer-review process, although authors may still be requested to improve citations or paraphrasing where necessary.
For manuscripts requiring revision, authors are expected to submit a revised version with an acceptable similarity level before the manuscript can proceed further in the editorial process.
Every manuscript submitted to Sustainable Finance & Development (SUFID) is subject to plagiarism screening using Turnitin as part of the journal's quality assurance and publication ethics procedures.
